My Name Is Not Isabella

November 17, 2008

Well, it isn't, but that isn't what this is about.   Back when I started writing for Savvy Source I ran into a wonderful woman named Jennifer Fosberry who had self published a book.  On a whim, I asked her if I could review it.  She actually said yes.  I was in shock, and I've been waiting for months to feel like my review would be read by enough people.  I love the book, and I want as many people as possible to know how good it is.

When I was a kid, I had a great book about Marie Curie.  Due in part to that book, and my mom, I knew that I could do anything.  I hope that this book is that for M as she gets older.  Right now she is very much into the amazing illustrations.  They are filled with a number of sweet little details that she is excited about seeing.

As she gets older, she will (hopefully) love the wonderful story.  The little girl Isabella spends her day dreaming of being amazing women from history.  From Annie Oakley to Rosa Parks, she lives day through history.   The ending is perfect (but I'm not giving it away), and there are little bios of the women from the book at the end.

I love the book so much, I'm already plotting to give it to all the little girls I know.  It is available from Amazon, or you can buy it directly from Monkey Barrel Press
