Day Trip - Highway 61, Red Wing and LARK

October 20, 2008

This last weekend we decided to do something sneaky and underhanded. We went down towards Red Wing with no intention of visiting family. (we're heading down there after Halloween, so I don't feel too bad) We drove the long way, down Highway 61, through Hastings, down the Mississippi with the final destination of the LARK toy store and carousel in Kellog, Minnesota. Yay! It is October!

October 01, 2008

Oh, I love this time of year. I've been waiting, patiently, for it to get here. Those last few warms days were nice, but I'm looking forward to sweater weather. Mostly because of the things to do. While the activities are geared more  Read more...

As my grandmother would say, "time's a wasting".  Read more...

Day Trip: Lake Pepin

September 15, 2008

As the leaves begin to change (they already are up north), it is time to go find those great places to take in the sights. One of the most famous (I found an article about it in the New York Times), is Highway 61 and Lake Pepin. Even before the leaves ever turn (and after) there are plenty of things to keep you busy in the area. Lake Pepin - A natural lake formation, it is actually the  Read more...

Getting to Know The TC: 5 Fun Things That Are Uniquely Ours

June 24, 2008

While some people may argue that the best way to get to know this area is to endure a frigid winter and a summer filled with mosquito bites, there are better ways.  Here are five fun things that are all our own. Spoon Bridge With Cherry - While not specifically tied to Minnesota by content, it is still something that only we have.  It has whimsy, humor, and a fountain.  No matter what your  Read more...
